Walnut Floating Timber Shelves Made in Melbourne

American Walnut is a striking timber favoured for its beautiful grain pattern and rich, deep colour.  We look at your most commonly asked questions about Walnut floating shelves and a few misconceptions.

I have light timbers such as Oak in my home - will a Walnut Floating Shelf match?

This really depends on your home, but mixing complimentary timbers often works very well and adds dimension to your space.  Contrasting between lighter and darker tones such as Walnut and American Oak, Victorian Ash or American Ash are a good place to start as the grain pattern is consistent and not highly featured.

Are Walnut shelves stained or is this the natural colour?

This is the natural colour - the stunning range between darker and some lighter features throughout is part of the inherent beauty of Walnut.   We finish Walnut with a clear satin coating to bring the grain to life - or make 'pop'.

I need a custom size, large Walnut Shelf, can you make it?

We make all shelves to order and often make to custom sizes, including lengths up to 5 metres.  Sometimes these large floating shelves can be difficult to maneuver on site, we will discuss your requirements and if necessary make in smaller sections to join on site if needed.  We have made large floating shelves in species ranging from American Oak and Walnut to Tasmanian Blackwood, and delivered Australia wide.

Can I see a sample?

Of course! We can meet with you in our Melbourne studio to look at samples, alternatively contact us to enquire about purchasing a sample pack.  To view our Walnut Floating Timber Shelves, browse the range here.
